💿 The New Album: Grateful
Freshly released via HBYCO/RCA Records, Grateful is an 11-track masterpiece produced by nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb (the mastermind behind Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell).
The album masterfully walks the line between sweat-drenched, gritty southern rock-and-roll and deep, soul-searching spirituality. Frontman Brandon Coleman explained the evolution beautifully: if their debut was about having faith in dark times, and their sophomore record was about realizing those struggles shape who you are, Grateful is about the jubilation of making it to the other side.
Tracks you need to queue up immediately:
-
"Demons In Your Choir" – A massive, foot-stomping spiritual meditation backed by a full gospel choir.
-
"People Hatin'" – A churning, bluesy roots-rock anthem that proves why this band dominates live stages.
- "If I Didn't Know You" – A tender, heart-on-your-sleeve ballad showcasing Coleman's generational vocal range.
🎸 Cut From Different Clay: The Band's Background
If it feels like The Red Clay Strays exploded out of nowhere, it's only because they spent years cutting their teeth on the sticky floors of dive bars across the Gulf Coast.
Formed in Mobile, Alabama, the six-piece band—led by the towering, old-school rock-and-roll showmanship of Brandon Coleman—gained a massive grass-roots following through relentless touring. They struck global gold with their multi-platinum hit "Wondering Why," which sent them skyrocketing from local legends to winning Group of the Year at the ACM Awards. They blend country, soul, gospel, and classic Southern rock into a sound that feels entirely timeless.
"The title of the album is a literal meaning to us at this moment in our careers. We’re grateful for how we came out of it and what we have now." — Bassist Andrew Bishop
