Leon Bridges & Khruangbin - Texas Moon
Released in February 2020, the 4 song EP Texas Sun from Leon Bridges & Khruangbin was a welcome dose of Summer heat during one of the few cold months of the year in Texas. Formed out of their friendship from a previous tour, the EP mixes the cool psychedelic sounds of Khruangbin with the neo-soul & R&B of Mr. Bridges. The result felt like a tantalizing taste of what could be, leaving the listener wanting more than just its 4 short songs.
Little did we know that the world would shut down just a month later and the long time spent languishing under Covid would make this EP feel like it came out a decade ago instead of in 2020.
Fast forward two years and we now have a new EP to look forward to from these two formidable Texas giants. Texas Moon, the new 5 song EP, drops this Friday. With pre-orders selling out all over the internet and stores eagerly awaiting its release, the hype couldn’t get much bigger. With a more introspective feel, this EP will rocket to the top of the charts, much like its predecessor and I can assure you that the vinyl release will sell out immediately, leaving many a fan clamoring for a repress that, during the height of this vinyl pressing plant chaos, will be months and months away.
