Evgeny Svetlanov * Glazunov: Orchestral Works [New CD]

Glazunov's Symphony No. 8 is his final completed symphony and represents the culmination of his symphonic writing-richly orchestrated, expansive, and elegant, though less well known than his earlier works. In this newly compiled collection from Alto, his Symphony No. 8 is paired with excerpts from the La Raymonda Ballet, Mazurka in G and the Finnish Fantasy all conducted by one of the most significant Russian conductors of the 20th century, Evgeny Svetlanov.
