Escape to the Cottage: Join Our Heated Rivalry Album Listening Event!
The shop has been buzzing with excitement all week, and I can officially say the countdown is on! We are getting everything ready for an incredibly special album listening event here at Curious Collections. Mark your calendars: on Friday, July 10th at 6:00 PM, we’re gathering at 710 N. Rosemary Dr, Bryan, TX 77802 to celebrate the official physical release of the Heated Rivalry Original Series Soundtrack on vinyl and CD.
The official theme for our event is "Going to the Cottage," and we are leaning all the way into those cozy, lakeside sanctuary vibes.
For Anyone New to the Series...
If you haven't seen Heated Rivalry yet, you are missing out on an absolute cultural phenomenon. Based on Rachel Reid’s smash-hit Game Changers novels, the series follows the intense, years-long secret romance between two of professional hockey's biggest rival superstars: Shane Hollander (the golden boy playing for Montreal) and Ilya Rozanov (the provocative Russian star playing for Boston).
"Going to the cottage" holds a deeply emotional significance in the story. In the spectacular season finale, the couple escapes to Shane's family lakeside cottage in Muskoka for two weeks in July to get away from the intense media scrutiny and the burden of keeping their relationship hidden. It serves as their ultimate safe haven—a place of pure freedom, vulnerability, and queer joy where they can finally drop their guards, cook together, and openly profess their love.
The Soundtrack & What to Expect
This soundtrack perfectly captures that pulse-pounding hockey tension mixed with heart-melting romance. The album features a gorgeous electronic, synth-driven ambient score by Canadian composer Peter Peter, alongside iconic needle-drops from artists like Wolf Parade, Feist, Wet Leg, and t.A.T.u. Best of all, the physical release dropping on July 10th includes a brand-new bonus track: "One Soul (Cottage Mix)"!
The vinyl itself is stunning, coming in deluxe gatefold editions that pay tribute to the characters' team colors—featuring block-colored discs in Montreal Metros Blue/Red and Boston Raiders Black/Yellow.
