Angels & Airwaves - We Don’t Need to Whisper (Click To Order) - SCR Vinyl puts out another reissue of the first two Angels & Airwaves records this week. Featuring ex-Blink 182 guitarist/singer Tom Delonge and versatile uberdrummer Atom Willard, Angels & Airwaves runs the gamut from punk to pop to emo. It was easy to dismiss Delonge as a one trick pony in Blink 182, but both of these albums show he has a lot more depth than previously on display.
David Bowie - Toy Box (Click To Order) - Originally recorded in 2001, but shelved until this year, Toy saw David Bowie looking back and reimagining songs from his 1960’s pre-fame days. His label opted to not release it and it sat on the shelves until coming out in the 2021 box set Brilliant Adventure. This 6LP expanded edition features the album Toy, plus multiple other unreleased tracks and mixes from the Toy Sessions. A must have for Bowie fans like me.
Megadeth - A Night in Buenos Aires (Click To Order) - Recorded in Argentina 2005 before thousands of adoring fans!Founder/vocalist Dave Mustaine leads his band through several of Megadeth's best loved tracks including "Symphony Of Destruction," "Tornado Of Souls," and "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" plus several tracks from the then brand new album The System Has FailedI Includes liner notes from Mustaine reflecting on this historic and memorable live performance!
Working Men’s Club - X-Remixes (Click To Order) - Named after the wood paneled, community-run venues 18-year-old band leader and singer Sydney Minsky-Sargeant used to sneak into under age. It was at home in the town of Todmorden in West Yorkshire, feeling hemmed in, that Syd first began assembling these ten songs. "There's not much going on, not much stuff to do as a teenager," he says. "It's quite isolated. And it can get quite depressing being in a town where in the winter it gets light at nine in the morning and dark at four." Their eponymous 2020 debut was equal parts Calder Valley restlessness and raw Sheffield steel, as it was across the Pennines that Working Men's Club's hard edged electronic sound was forged. If you love the 80’s and bands like Depeche Mode and Erasure, then you NEED this album.
