Record Store Day 2023 FAQ

When is Record Store Day 2023?

  • The best day of the year is happening April 22, 2023 Mark your calendars!

Who are the ambassadors for RSD 2023?

When will doors open on RSD for in-store shopping?

    • Doors will open at 7:30am on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023
    • We will have food and drink all day long on a "pay what you like" basis.

    When are phone appointments starting?

    • 7 AM on Sunday, April 23. In the past we have taken phone appointments prior to opening our doors. This year looks a little different. We will not be doing phone appointments the day of Record Store Day. We have decided to give priority to our customers who will be waiting in line at our store and those that come to the store on Saturday, April 22.
    • So for our out of town customers and those that can not make it in person, we will have phone appointments available an hour before (at 7 AM) we release all the titles for sale online on Sunday.

When will the RSD albums be available for purchase online?

What is the purchase limit per customer?

      • 1 per customer! Max of 10 albums per customer. Share the love.
      • No pre-orders, holds or pre-sales on RSD albums.

I want to buy the Taylor Swift Folklore Long Pond Studio Sessions. How many will Curious Collections have to sell?

      • For security reasons, we do not disclose the number of pieces we are getting of any of our albums.
      • I will say, that when Saturday rolls around, there will be plenty. However, saying that, I wouldn't wait and stroll in Saturday afternoon expecting to get a copy of the things you want, especially Taylor Swift and the 1975
      • So, get here early, don't wait, you might miss out. Quantities are limited.

How soon can I come to wait in line?

      • We want to encourage customers to come shop in-store on Record Store Day, and we realize there may be a line to get in. Get here early for first dibs on titles since there are NO holds for anyone on RSD. We will have water, games, puzzles and even snacks available for those who decide to get here early. We want to make it the best experience we possibly can. We plan to have food and drinks available for a donation when we open and some fun booths and vendors outside the shop as well!  School of Rock will be entertaining and we will have a DJ later in the day.

What can I expect when the line starts moving at 7:30 AM on Saturday?

      • A bit different from years past, the RSD albums will be set up in our listening room and we will be letting in a select number of shoppers at a time. More instructions on what to expect the day of will be sent via email to our subscribers. Navigate to our website, curiouscollectionstx.com and sign up for our emails and text messages so you don't miss out on important RSD information.
      • We will notify the line, throughout the day, if we run out of something, so you don't continue to wait only to find out we are already sold out
      • We will update everyone on our socials as the day progresses, including an alert if and when our stock runs low enough where it looks like we’re on the verge of a sellout and you’ll be able to find updates on all of those platforms.

      • In the event we do not sell out of the Taylor release, our remaining stock will be available in person and online at curiouscollectionstx.com starting on Sunday, April 23. Online sales start at 10 AM CDT Sunday; doors open for in-store purchases at 10 AM on Sunday and we close at 7 PM. The one-per-person rule still applies after Record Store Day, so if you already bought one on Saturday, we won’t sell you any additional copies on Sunday or thereafter. Online orders are one-per-person as well. Online orders are available for in-store pickup or shipping worldwide

How do I request certain records to be in-store for RSD?
