We have some massive pop-music news dropping right alongside a big life update here at Curious Collections.
The countdown is officially on for pop royalty Ariana Grande to drop her highly anticipated eighth studio album, petal, on Friday, July 31st via her Babydoll Music imprint. Ariana has described this 12-track project as a raw, life-filled record about "growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging"—dropping the attachments that no longer serve her.
Because we are in the absolute thick of planning our own massive storefront move this summer, our official listening party details are currently TBD (To Be Determined). We want to celebrate this gorgeous new record with you the right way, but we are finalizing our exact calendar dates around the moving boxes.
RSVP is not required but we are still requesting for customers RSVP so we have a tentative head count for the big event!

👑 The Evolution of a Vocal Powerhouse: The Ariana Grande Journey
To truly appreciate what petal brings to the table, you have to look at the continuous, record-shattering reinvention of Ariana Grande.
After transitioning from theater and television, Ariana instantly established herself as a generational vocal talent with her 2013 debut Yours Truly. Influenced heavily by '90s R&B, she immediately drew comparisons to Mariah Carey with her four-octave vocal range and effortless whistle register.
She went on to completely dominate the pop landscape across the 2010s. From the sleek dance-pop of My Everything and the mature, sultry edge of Dangerous Woman, she consistently sat at the top of the charts.
In 2018 and 2019, Ariana achieved rare legendary status by releasing Sweetener and thank u, next back-to-back. The albums flipped personal heartbreak, grief, and massive media scrutiny into empowering pop masterpieces, breaking historic streaming metrics and securing her place as a dominant culture-defining icon.
Following 2024's chart-topping eternal sunshine and her cinematic star-turn in Wicked, Ariana is keeping her hair down and leaning into a deeply intimate, alternative-leaning synth-pop soundscape for petal, spearheaded by her incredible chart-topping lead single "hate that i made you love me."
