The Evolution of an Indie Icon: About Beabadoobee
For anyone who has been paying attention over the last few years, Beatrice Laus—better known to the world as Beabadoobee—has delivered one of the most exciting artistic trajectories in modern indie rock.
Born in Iloilo City, Philippines, and raised in West London, Bea first captured global attention in 2017 with "Coffee," a delicate, acoustic bedroom-pop track written in her bedroom that went viral and earned a platinum certification. But rather than staying in the lo-fi acoustic lane, Bea leaned heavy into her love for '90s alternative rock, shoegaze, and grunge—citing icons like The Smashing Pumpkins, Elliott Smith, and Sonic Youth as core influences.
Over the course of three acclaimed studio albums—Fake It Flowers (2020), Beatopia (2022), and This Is How Tomorrow Moves (2024)—she transformed from a bedroom songwriter into an international festival headliner, opening stadium dates for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and securing BRIT Award and NME Award nominations along the way.
Now, stepping into her fourth studio album, Pylon (releasing September 18th via Dirty Hit), Bea expands her sound even further.
