Miranda Lambert/Jack Ingram/Jon Randall - The Marfa Tapes: Miranda Lambert has teamed up with singer-songwriters Jack Ingram and Jon Randall on a new album that’s out in the spring called The Marfa Tapes. Ingram, Lambert, and Randall recorded the stripped-down Marfa Tapes in the small West Texas town of the same name and it includes new recordings of “Tin Man,” from Lambert’s 2016 album The Weight Of These Wings, and “Tequila Does,” which appeared on her 2019 album Wildcard.

Weezer - Van Weezer: This album was supposed to come out last Spring, but Weezer pulled it at the last minute during the early stages of the Covid Pandemic. They ended up releasing the Orchestral pop album, OK Human, in the interim, but now they’re finally releasing their tribute of sorts to the Hard Rock that Rivers and crew grew up on. It’s not a metal record, but the sounds are more reminiscent of Maladroit than what they’ve done in the 19 years since that album was released.

New Order - Education Entertainment Recreation: Filmed and recorded at a sold out London’s Alexandra Palace November 9th 2018. The set includes all the New Order favorites such as ‘Blue Monday’, ‘True Faith’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’ as well as 4 from Joy Division with ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ closing the show. The last two New Order live albums, recorded since the departure of bassist and founding member Peter Hook, have actually been really good, so I’m looking forward to this one.

Iron & Wine - Archive Series Vol.5 - The Tallahassee Tapes: Archive Series Volume No. 5: Tallahassee is the lost-in-time debut album from Iron & Wine. A collection of songs recorded three years prior to his official Sub Pop debut, The Creek Drank the Cradle (2002), this predates his kitchen demos recorded as his family slept. Recorded in 1998/1999 while he was a student at Florida State, these recordings are a bit more energetic than the early works we’ve heard previously.

Peter Murphy - Deep & Holy Smoke: Two great Peter Murphy albums are finally getting quality reissues from Beggars Arkive. On colored vinyl, both of these LP’s were released at the height of his critical and commercial success and include some of his finest works. I was fortunate to catch him on the Deep tour when they played Cullen Auditorium on the UofH campus in Houston.
