Bad Brains - Rock For Light [Buy Now]
Rock for Light is the second full-length album by Bad Brains, released in 1983. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. We're proud to present the original mix of the album, for the first time in decades, as the band originally intended. Most fans will be more familiar with the 1991 reissue, which was remixed by Ocasek and bass player Darryl Jenifer. In addition to new mixes, that version used an altered track order. This reissue marks the fourth release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. Honestly, this is one of those records that changed the entire universe for me, so I can’t recommend this enough. It’s a world changing LP.
Badbanotgood - Talk Memory [Buy Now]
Their fifth LP and first in 5 years, Talk Memory is the new album from Canada’s jazz/instrumental/post-rock band Badbadnotgood. I got into these guys kind of late, but really enjoy their work and “Signal From The Noise”, the first track released from this album is ridiculously good.
De La Soul - De La Soul Is Dead [Buy Now]
Tommy Boy Reissues exclusive limited edition pressing of de la Soul's "De La Soul is Dead" on October 8, 2021 as part of Tommy Boy's 40th Anniversary Celebration In 1989, Long Island Hip Hop trio de la Soul burst onto the scene with the release of their debut album, "3 Feet High and Rising." Bringing a sound and energy unlike any other, de la Soul quickly became one of the most revered, game-changing artists in hip-hop and forever cemented their legacy in the hearts and minds of fans around the world. Despite their rapid success and recognition, de la Soul continued to prove themselves as one of the most original, authentic and creative groups in hip-hop, following in 1991 with the release of their sophomore album, "De La Soul is Dead." The only version of this on vinyl since its 1991 release was a pressing from Vinyl Me Please which currently runs close to $200 on discogs, so be sure to grab this one FAST.
Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas [Buy Now]
A swinging Christmas and a jazzy new year-that's what this joyous 1960 Ella LP will bring you. Featuring Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, and more, Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes and remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging. This is one of my favorite Christmas albums and honestly, everything Ella did was worth picking up.
The Notorious BIG - Ready To Die [Buy Now]
The 1994 debut album from The Notorious BIG gets the reissue treatment. A monumental rap album, Ready to Die not only announced Biggie’s arrival, it also pushed the entire Bad Boy Entertainment family into the mainstream. This is still one of the best Rap albums of all time.
