How to Apply Your CC Temporary Tattoo (A Guide From Your Favorite Record Store)
So… we made temporary tattoos of CC!
If you’ve ever been into Curious Collections, you probably know our store cat CC. And if you don’t, well, you’re about to.
We got a bunch of temporary tattoos made featuring our favorite little store cat, and obviously we had to test them out ourselves before sending them home with y’all. So if you picked one up in the store, here’s how to actually put it on!
Okay, so how do you apply one?
It’s honestly pretty easy. If you’ve never used a temporary tattoo before, don’t worry. We tested these out ourselves, and here’s what you need to do.
Step 1: Pick your spot
First, find somewhere you want your CC tattoo. Make sure your skin is clean and dry before you start. You don’t want lotion or oil getting in the way.
Step 2: Peel off the clear layer

Take off the clear protective film covering the tattoo. Try not to touch the design any more than you need to.
Step 3: Put it where you want it

Place the tattoo design-side down against your skin. Make sure it’s positioned how you want it before moving on, because nobody wants their CC tattoo accidentally upside down. 💀
Step 4: Get it wet

Grab a damp cloth, spray bottle, or sponge and press it firmly against the back of the paper. Make sure the whole thing gets wet so the design can transfer.
Step 5: Wait a little bit

Hold it in place for around 30 seconds, or follow the instructions that came with your particular tattoo. Try not to move the paper while you’re waiting.
I know it’s tempting to check if it’s working, but give it a second!
Step 6: Reveal your CC

Carefully peel the paper away. If the design hasn’t transferred all the way, lay it back down and wet it a little more before trying again.
And there you go! You now have a tiny piece of Curious Collections with you wherever you go. 🐈

Okay, but how do you get it off?
Temporary tattoos don’t last forever (thankfully, because imagine having to explain a giant CC on your arm at a formal event ).
You can remove water-transfer tattoos by gently rubbing the area with a skin-safe oil, such as baby oil or mineral oil, and then washing the area. Don’t scrub your skin raw trying to get it off.

A couple of quick things before you go
- Only apply your tattoo to clean, intact skin.
- Keep it away from your eyes, lips, and other sensitive areas.
- Don’t apply it to irritated or broken skin.
- If your skin gets irritated, remove the tattoo and stop using it.
- Check the product’s safety instructions before applying it.
And that’s pretty much it! Whether you’re wearing CC on your next record-store run, taking her to a concert, or just showing off your new little tattoo, we hope you love it as much as we do.
