Welcome to Curious Collections: Music, Community, and a Decade of Heart

Curious Collections isn’t just a record store. It’s a space built on music, memory, resilience, and community, right here in Bryan / College Station, Texas.

What You’ll Find When You Visit

Curious Collections is your local independent record store, specializing in vinyl records, CDs, turntables, merch, and music culture across every genre. Whether you’re a longtime collector, a student discovering vinyl for the first time, or just someone who loves great music, our goal is simple: make you feel at home.

Inside the shop, you’ll also find our coffee bar, proudly serving Coyote Moon Coffee:

  • 7 AM – 3 PM, Monday through Saturday

  • 🚫 No coffee service on Sundays

It’s the perfect spot to dig through records, meet friends, or start your morning before class or work.

Record Store Day & Why It Matters

We’re proud participants in Record Store Day, a global celebration of independent record stores that takes place each April and Black Friday. Record Store Day is about more than limited-edition vinyl — it’s about supporting local shops, connecting artists with fans, and keeping music culture alive at the community level.

Each year, we host events, listening parties, giveaways, and exclusive releases that bring music lovers together. If you’ve ever lined up early for a special pressing or discovered a record you didn’t even know you were looking for — that’s the magic of Record Store Day, and it’s a huge part of who we are.

Rooted in Community

Curious Collections has always believed in giving back. Over the years, we’ve partnered with local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and artists to support fundraisers, community events, and causes close to our hearts. Being an indie store in a college town means showing up — not just for music, but for people.

Ten Years of a Love Project

In October 2026, Curious Collections will celebrate 10 years in business — a milestone we don’t take lightly. This store began with a box of records, a dream, and a story deeply personal to its owner, Mary.

After Mary’s dad passed away tragically in a car accident, she was left with his record collection — pieces of his life, his memories, and his love for music. Curious Collections was born from the desire to honor what he left behind and turn grief into something meaningful. What started as a small idea grew into a storefront, a community hub, and a decade-long labor of love.

That journey hasn’t been easy.

In 2018, Mary was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. In 2025, it metastasized to her bones. Through treatment, uncertainty, COVID shutdowns, and the constant risk that comes with owning a small business, Curious Collections stayed open — because of faith, community, and a refusal to give up.

Today, Mary is NED (No Evidence of Disease), and we are overwhelmingly grateful to God for that truth.

Why Your Support Matters

Every visit, every record purchased, every online order helps sustain something rare: an independent record store that has survived COVID, cancer, and ten years of small-business challenges — and is still here, still growing, still serving this community.

If you met us at Aggie-Con or just out and about in the community, we hope you’ll come see us in person. And if you’re reading this from afar, know that you can support us by shopping online, attending our events, or simply telling a friend about a little record store in Bryan / College Station that refuses to quit.

We can’t wait to welcome you into the shop.
