In 1995, Swinging Popsicle was formed by Hirata Hironobu (B/Cho), Fujishima Mineko (Vo/G), and Shimada Osamu (G/Cho). In 1997, they made their major debut with 'Joy of Living' under Sony Records. Influenced by a wide range of Western music, including The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, neo acoustic, guitar pop, soft rock, and Swedish pop, the band has released 12 albums and numerous other works to date. In 2015, they released 'flow' through Flavour of Sound, and in 2018, they released a 37-track compilation album to commemorate their 20th anniversary through Sony Music. Swinging Popsicle has also released works in South Korea and the United States, and has performed live in four countries, including Mexico. Additionally, in 2022, he released a 7-inch EP titled 'Orange / Distant Sky' through Miobel Records, which features two new tracks added to his 20-year-old recordings.
