Peter Jablonski * Melcher Melchers: Pno Concertos [New CD]

Pianist Peter Jablonski joins the Gavle Symphony Orchestra and their new chief conductor Christian Reif to shine a spotlight on two forgotten treas-ures of Nordic music. This album brings back to life the beautifully crafted piano concertos of Swedish composer Melcher Melchers (1882-1961), works full of elegance, warmth, and Romantic spirit. Long overlooked, Melchers's concertos reveal a composer with a distinctive voice-refined, expressive, and deeply musical. Jablonski's performances, paired with the orchestra's vibrant sound, offer listeners a rare chance to discover these re-markable pieces anew.
