Pre-Order: Royal Ballet * Alice's Adventures In Wonderland [CD]

Much like falling down a rabbit hole, Joby Talbot's score for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland immediately plunges the listener into the surreal world of Lewis Carroll's classic story. The sound world of Alice is at once magical, mind-bending and raucous, often magnifying elements of the orchestra beyond their usual proportions to convey the off-kilter nature of Wonderland and it's many characters, each of whom brings their own theme in different iterations throughout the ballet. This exuberant adaptation was Joby Talbot's first collaboration with Christopher Wheeldon on a full-length narrative ballet and the score was the first of it's kind commissioned by The Royal Ballet in 20 years. It has since entered the repertory of ballet companies worldwide.Recorded live at the Royal Opera House
