Violetta Gawara * Franck: Melodies CD

Cesar Franck's vocal music reveals a more intimate side of the composer, where refined Romantic lyricism meets profound spiritual expression. In these rarely recorded melodies, poetry becomes a vehicle for contemplation, tenderness and emotional intensity, shaped by Franck's distinctive harmonic language. From the quiet melancholy of Nocturne and the dramatic poignancy of Le vase brise to the luminous delicacy of Le mariage des roses, each song unfolds with remarkable expressive nuance. Mezzo-soprano Violetta Gawara and pianist James Lipka bring together vocal warmth, interpretative depth and an exceptional understanding of this repertoire, offering a compelling portrait of Franck as a master of intimate musical expression.
